チュラロンコーン大学工学部に在学中、大学主催の歌唱コンテストで1位を取り、1999年、一万人以上が参加したタイ全国規模の2つの歌唱コンクールでも受賞。2002年にはロンドン大学で上演されたミュージカル「A Different Kind of Truth」の主役に抜擢され、その後、バンコクで上演されたアンドリュー・リロイドのミュージカル「ジーザス・クライスト・スーパースター」にも出演した。また、2003年にはタイのウボンラット王女が指揮された「リバー・オブ・キング IV」の主役4人のうちの1人に選ばれる。王宮の傍で上演されたこのミュージカルは、150万ドルの予算が使われ、世界各国から7万人以上の観客を集めて、さらにCNN 、BBC 、NHKなどを通して世界中に放送された。

Art Thomya was given an opportunity by 88 Peak FM to meet Kelly Clarkson who came to perform in MTV Asia Aid 2005 Concert on 3 February 2005 in Bangkok, Thailand. This charitable event aims to raise funds from around the world for the victims of the tsunami that heavily hit Southeast and South Asia on 26 December 2004. The event was broadcast through MTV and CNN.
Having represented Thailand in several cultural exchange programs, Art Thomya was selected by Television Thailand and Tourism Authority of Thailand to host a TV program “Diplomats in Siam”.

It seems like every other week that another bit of window dressing gets a recording contract. With all the deals handed to movie stars with little vocal talent, a real singing sensation like Polkrit “Art” Thomya, who has never been offered a record, might be tempted to pack it in.
When Polkrit "Art" Thomya traveled from Thailand to England to spend a year as an Ambassadorial Scholar, the world became his stage. While studying at the University of London's Royal Holloway College, Thomya made friends from many nations, helped organize a memorable International Night on campus, built relationships with host counselors and Rotarians, and raised funds for local charities.
Art Thomya to be a part of Bangkok production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, a rock musical by Tim Rice and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Introduced in 1970, it highlights the political and interpersonal struggles of Judas Iscariot and Jesus. The action largely follows the canonical gospels' accounts of the last weeks of Jesus's life, beginning with Jesus and his followers arriving in Jerusalem and ending with the Crucifixion. Twentieth-century attitude and sensibilities as well as contemporary slang pervade the lyrics, and ironic allusions to modern life are scattered throughout the political depiction of the events.
Art Thomya to play James Morgan in A Different Kind of Truth
Art Thomya passed the audition to play a leading role "James Morgan" in a University of London musical production "A Different Kind of Truth".
The only Asian actor in the cast, Art has to sing, act, and dance live with a band together with other native English-speaking actors and singers. This musical play will be held at Music Department, Royal Holloway College.
